Collection 3 2022: The Inspiration Behind the Styles
Share
The one constant through all the years of great eyewear style, has been aviators. It’s a classic design that lives beyond both time and trend. However, with recent cinematic releases the aviator has seen a resurgence. From the pages of fashion magazines to the carousels of the social media content creators, the aviator is having a moment; again. At SALT. we never chase trends, instead we look to classic eyewear pieces that we can build upon and bring into the modern era by improving fit and using only premium materials. By perfecting fit we also carefully take into consideration the optics of each style, and make sure we produce each piece to provide the highest performance of optical clarity. With that said, we are excited to release this new collection of Japanese titanium pieces in a selection of classic eyewear designs. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making them. This is C3-22, available now.
Columbia
Perhaps the most iconic shape in the history of sunglasses, the classic tear drop aviator has proven itself as a true tool of eye protection for nearly a century. The SALT. COLUMBIA builds on that heritage to offer the perfect blend of style, functionality, and optical performance.
The 1mm Japanese acetate insert provides a new level of structure and protection to the lens. This allows for the pairing of best-in-class materials that previously would not work together, such as titanium and glass. Additionally, this insert provides another layer of color variation, with both bold contrasting and subtle monochrome colorways.
The organic SALT. pattern is custom stamped on the inside of Japanese titanium temple tips and nose pads adding a unique identity and providing more grip against the skin to increase the fit retention of the frame. Whether in the skies or on the silver screen, if you’re only going to have one pair of sunglasses, this is the one.
Colorado
The classic square aviator has been the standard issue shape for the US military since the 1950’s, and there is good reason for that. This is a timeless no-nonsense style that will fit almost anyone. The SALT. COLORADO builds on that heritage to offer the perfect blend of style, functionality, and optical performance.
The Colordao also features a 1mm Japanese acetate insert to provide a new level of structure and protection to the lens while also adding an element of unique style.
The organic SALT. pattern is also custom stamped on the inside of the temple tips and nose pads which provide better contact with the skin, improving fit.
Hudson
The classic P-3 has been a constant staple in eyewear no matter the era, effectively staying in style since its inception during WW2. That’s not likely to change anytime soon, and the SALT. HUDSON builds on that rich heritage to offer the perfect blend of style, functionality, and optical performance.
The Hudson also features our new 1mm Japanese acetate insert that not only serves a function but also adds a unique accent that goes from subtle to bold.
As with all our Japanese titanium offerings in C3-2022, we stamped our organic pattern inside the temples and nose pieces that not only looks good but serves a function that improves fit and stability.
Rogue
Setting the precedent for tailored fit and quality manufacturing that elevates any style, the American midcentury established the core tenets of what has become enduring and classic eyewear. The SALT. ROGUE is a square titanium optical frame that highlights the same classic aesthetic, while utilizing modern technologies and materials to offer the perfect blend of style, functionality, and optical performance. The 1mm acetate insert allows for the perfect balance of form and function with regard to the lens while allowing us to experiment with color that goes from bold to subtle. The discoverable features like the SALT. organic pattern stamped on the temples and nose pads allows for improved stability and increased comfort.
