The LC-22 has been specifically designed for Commune to address their eyewear requirements in both practical function and design aesthetic. The striking avant garde styling has roots in film noir touchstones like Belmondo in Breathless and Delon in Le Samura, with a lens shape that provides ample width and depth for a full field of view at different focal lengths. The custom SALT. Occupational lens is designed to “go from the design room to construction site.” The blue light anti-reflective coating helps to relax your eyes and reduce eyestrain effects when putting in long hours at a computer screen, the photochromic brown lens tint is UV activated to be darkened outside allowing for sun protection without switching frames, and the ANSI rated safety lens provides a impact-resistant construction while defusing 100% of UV rays and maintaining superior optics. Aerospace grade Japanese titanium provides a stunning strength to weight ratio, giving even bold frames a featherweight feel while maintaining the material’s natural hypoallergenic properties.
Mono-block construction, proprietary titanium thickness transitions, and bevel placement provide stability where needed most and create an ideal position for the lens bevel. This stability ensures that any stress put on the frame is not transferred to the lens, greatly improving optics.
Titanium color variations are achieved by using a heat-transfer cloisonné application. This process allows for the color application to fuse with the hand brushed base metal, creating an extremely durable and unique coloration.
